Documents Required for Tier 1 General |
|
When applying for a Tier 1 General Skilled visa to the United Kingdom, make sure to complete the supporting documents that are needed for the application process. Failure to comply with the requirements may result into your application for a Tier 1 visa being refused, on the grounds that you have sent insufficient evidence, in which case your fee will not be refunded.
According to the new rules of Tier 1 General Skilled visa (HSMP) effective from 1st April 2009 the following documents are required for Tier 1 general application.
- Two recent colored passport photos (45mm x 35 mm) with white background; must be clear, not framed and taken without any accessory that covers any part of the face, unless accessory is worn for religious reasons.
- Valid passport or travel document
- Proof of age: birth certificate/ Original Driving License. You will also need to provide alternative evidence in the form of a notarised copy of the personal details page of your passport. (Please do not send your original passport with this application form).
- Educational qualifications - You should provide your original degree certificate. This should clearly show
- the date of the award; and
- the title of the award; and
- the name of the awarding institution; and
- your name.
Work experience certificates for all companies you have worked in. According to new rules of HSMP there is no requirement of experience certificates but it is better to attach it but remember now there are no points for experience.
Tax returns if you are claiming points for income. If the tax year does not cover the full period claimed other corroborating evidence is required for the period(s) not covered. Self-assessment tax documents are not accepted, as they are not independent.
Wage Slips if you are claiming points for income. Your wage slips covering the entire 12 months period.
For self employed individuals, we will need balance sheets, profit and loss statements, income tax returns for atleast 3-5 years. In addition, copies of client/ supplier references, contracts/ agreements are desirable
English Language Proficiency . Any prove of nationality in a majority English speaking country/passing an English language test/your degree having been taught in English.
Maintenance funds showing that you have had at least GBP 800 in the form of cash funds in your account at all times over the three-month period.
