A Tier 1 Post study work visa candidate must be able to support themselves financially, and provide financial support for any dependants who accompany them in the UK. The maintenance funds required for Tier 1 Post study work has 10 points.
Most Post-Study Work migrants are expected to switch from the Student (or Tier 4) category from within the UK, in which case the Maintenance funds will only require the migrant to show they have £800 in funds plus additional funds for dependants.
The required amount of funds at the disposal of the applicant will depend on whether the application is submitted from within the UK to the UK Border Agency, or overseas, at an Embassy.
For applications applying from within the UK, the main applicant needs to hold £800 for themselves, and £1,600 for each dependant that has been in the UK for less than 12 months. £533 is required for each dependant in the UK for more than 12 months.
Applicants applying for Post study work from outside the Uk, the main applicant needs to hold £2,800 for themselves, and £1,600 for each dependant.
