A work permit is a generic term for a legal authorization which allows a person to take employment. It is most often used in reference to instances where a person is given permission to work in a country where one does not hold citizenship, but is also used in reference to minors, who in some US states must have such a permit (which, in New York State, includes maintaining adequate high school grades and is issued by the school).
The employer wishing to sponsor a Work Permit will need to show Work Permits that they are a viable business and that they have a genuine requirement that can be fulfilled by the prospective employee.
The work permit will be issued by Work Permits for a specific person and a specific job. The work permit scheme is designed to let employers recruit or transfer people from outside the EEA and this includes bringing people to the UK for training and work experience.
The scheme allows non-EEA nationals who have graduated from higher or further education establishments in certain physical sciences, mathematics and engineering subjects with a 2.2 or higher to remain in the country for 12 months after their studies in order to pursue a career.
This could save you a fair amount of time. It needs to be evaluated and applied for very carefully considering tight guidelines.
